Hero Motocorp is an Indian conglomerate engaged in the manufacture and sales of motorbikes and scooters. The largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world, Hero is known for the excellent quality bikes with high performance. Almost all of the Hero bikes are highly reliable and cost-effective while being low on maintenance. Hero HF Deluxe and Hero Splendor are two of the top selling bikes from the world’s top bike maker.

Cost Price – The Splendor series of bikes are sold for a price ranging between INR 43550/- and 51,250/-. Alternatively, Hero HF Deluxe, which comes in four variants. The Hero HF Deluxe price in India is between INR 42250/- to 44500/-. (ex-showroom). From the figures, it is obvious that the HF Deluxe series of bikes are cheaper than the Splendor series are.

Engine – The HF Deluxe runs on a 97.2 cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke single cylinder 7.8 bhp 8.04 Nm engine. Hero Splendor, on the other hand, runs on a 97.2 cc, Air-cooled, 4-stroke single cylinder, 7.5 PS and 7.95 Nm OH engine. Both the bikes are evenly matched in this parameter, with the slightest edge, if any, to the HF Deluxe.

Mileage – Hero Splendor returns an average mileage of 70 kmpl. However, the little more powerful engine of the HF Deluxe returns a better mileage of 70 to 80 kmpl. Both bikes offer almost identical fuel tank capacity of 11 liters and 10.5 liters.  The higher mileage of the HF Deluxe gives it an edge over its older sibling, Splendor.

Other Features

Both Splendor HF Deluxe can reach a top speed of 90 kmph. While HF Deluxe takes around eight seconds in reaching the speed of 60 kmph from zero, Splendor needs only seven seconds to reach the same speed. Both bikes offer kick and electric start options.

Hero Splendor has Telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and swing arm with 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber suspension systems at front and rear. The HF Deluxe has telescopic hydraulic forks suspension at front and 2-step adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. Both Splendor and HF Deluxe offers internal expanding shoe type disc brakes at both front and rear ends. This ensures better braking facility on both bikes.

Conclusion

To conclude, it can be said that features like cost, mileage, engine power and over-all performance, is in favour of the HF Deluxe. As it shares the same braking systems and suspension systems with its sibling, those looking to choose between the two will definitely opt for the HF Deluxe.
