Top Tips to Resolve Problem with Conveying Systems

0 77

Right from the airport to the small commercial and the industrial places, the conveying systems have multiple functions when it comes to productivity. Due to the automated features, the belts can make the process more efficient and boost the productivity of the companies. In spite of the long range of benefits, they suffer from mechanical issues due to persistent usage. But the conveying systems also encounter frequent problems and their parts may need repair and time to time servicing to ensure their steady performance.

Considerations to make while the conveying systems start showing problems:
Conveyor systems use 480V of electricity to operate, therefore if you face any technical issue make sure to keep yourself safe. While handling the belts, check the position of the hands so that they do not get injured due to the tumbling boxes. Numerous accidents take place everyday on the conveyor belts as people were not careful.

Find any abnormality in the conveyor belt:
In order to check defects, you should verify whether the guard rails are bent. They are very important components of the system as any bend can lead to the goods falling off the belts. Along with the fabric of the belt, it is also important to find out the quality of the screws and the connecting joints to sort out the abnormalities with the belt system.  In addition you must also verify the status of the rollers on the belts to ensure that they are working according to the requirements.

Use screwdriver for diagnosis:
One of the best options for the users is to use a plastic screwdriver to check whether the roller shaft is working fine. In the case of any problem, tighten the screws or call the specialists for solving the issue. Apart from the shaft, check whether the bearings are working fine or making noise.

Common tools are essential:
Some of the tools to rectify the conveyor problems include the wrench with 16 inches and 12 inches dimension. The majority of issues can be fixed without any hassles. In the absence of the tools, you might have to call the mechanic that can be an expensive proposition.

Fault with the photo eye:
One of the primary reasons for the fault with the conveyor belts is the photo eye. It can be misaligned and cause lots of problems to the users. If the beam is falling right on the reflector, it is working fine but in case the beam is off the target its direction should be immediately corrected, so that the system works fine. In order to test the device, remove all the objects from the conveyor belts and try to block the beam from the reflector with one finger. If it is possible, the photo eye is defective.

Electrical connection:
Rather than jumping to a conclusion, you should check whether the motor is connected to the power outlet. More often than not, a simple fault in the adapter is all that is needed to stop the conveyor machine. Therefore, do not panic and try to start with the switch to analyze all the options.

It is also very important to check the conduit of the conveying systems. You should bend the simple conduit to check the inaccessible parts of the conveyor systems. One can also use a reflector to diagnose the problems in a detailed manner. If the problem is found, put a sticky note at the relevant place so that it could be fixed in the near future. In case, you are not able to solve the problem, take a photo and video of the affected part and sent it to the mechanic via the Smartphone.
