If you run a business that is becoming more and more successful, you are probably looking for ways in which you can speed this process up even more and make more and more people aware of it and your brand. One great way of doing this is to find a trade show that has to do with your industry and then exhibit at such a show.

The reasons for exhibiting at trade shows are many and the most important of these is that you will be promoting your business to people who want to learn about it, people who are interested in that particular industry and who will then spread the word about your business to their acquaintances and friends. The question that needs to be answered next is how to actually do it, how to make the most out of your trade show exhibition?

Forming the team

In order to work the trade show like a pro, you will need a bit of help from your employees or even outside people that you will hire for the purposes of the trade show. Finding the right people can be more complex than you would think because you need different types of personalities.

You need those who are great with people and who will do the most talking. You need those who know a thing or two about modern technology who will work the tech that you will want to use. You also need a leader-type person who will be able to take over when you are not there, your second in command, if you wish. Of course, your team needs to be trained and educated before the trade show begins and they need to be aware of their responsibilities and tasks.

Designing the booth

When you exhibit at a trade show, you have your little (or larger) corner of space that is yours and that will be the place you will welcome the visitors to – your booth. The booths come in all sizes and shapes and if this is your first trade show, you will have some research to do. You need to be careful to choose the right size for your booth. It cannot be too small to feel cramped and it cannot be too big to look empty. You should also learn more about the various trade show displays that you can rent or buy and that will play a big role in attracting the visitors. Finally, do not be afraid to use technology, such as video displays, iPad displays and advanced light and sound systems.

Attracting the people

The crucial thing that will determine whether you are successful or not when exhibiting at a trade show is your ability to attract the visitors who will learn about your business and your brand.

For one, you can turn the web into your best ally, even before the trade show begins. You should employ your Twitter, Facebook and Google+ profiles and start spreading the word about the forthcoming event. You can make a short video for YouTube where you will tell people what to expect if they visit your booth. Let them know there will be freebies at the booth.

Of course, you will be doing some enticing in person as well. If you have done everything right, you will have the right team at the perfect booth and a lot of people will organically come over. Using technology is another great way to attract passers-by, as are events and contests that you can organize where people will be given free stuff or discounted products/services.
